Coming to a Park Near You: Red Sox Bring Fenway Game Experience, Broadcast to City Parks

The Red Sox, in partnership with the Highland Street Foundation, plan to bring the Fenway experience to local parks around the city, transporting the sights, sounds and tastes of the big game to locals free of charge.
Fans attending the “Out of the Park” events, supported by Boston Parks & Recreation and Mayor Martin Walsh, are encouraged to arrive with a blanket and picnic and enjoy a live NESN broadcast of a Red Sox away game, shown on a giant projector screen.

Enjoy the seventh inning stretch by participating in giveaways or by meeting caricaturists, balloon artists and face painters. Hungry? Reminisce in familiar Fenway tastes with free Hood ice cream and famous Fenway Franks by Kayem.

Adding to the atmosphere of a Fenway game, all events will feature Wally the Green Monster, Red Sox DJ TJ Connelly, the Hot Tamales Brass Band and a live game announcer.

WHEN/WHERE:

• Sunday, May 25 at 1:40pm at Ramsay Park at Jim Rice Field in Roxbury
• Sunday, June 22 at 4:05pm at Franklin Park in Dorchester
• Sunday, July 27 at 1:40pm at Boston Common

All three “Out of the Park” events are free and open to the public

“Out of the Park” is sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation, which is committed to addressing the needs and concerns of children and families in Massachusetts and California. Highland Street directs their efforts to provide access and opportunities in the areas of education, housing, mentorship, health care, the environment and the arts.
