Beginning Sewing – Intensive (4 weeks)

In this 4-week course students will learn basic sewing skills and machine know-how. You will take on four fun projects: Project 1: Learn to use your sewing machine while making a sweet tote bag. In this 2 1/2 hour session students will learn to wind a bobbin, thread the machine and gain a basic understanding of how a sewing machine works. Project 2: Learn to read a pattern and make a ruffled half-apron. Project 3: In two 2 1/2 hour sessions, you will learn to make a fitted, darted skirt with a zipper (the male alternative is any pattern with darts and a zipper).

No experience is necessary. Plan to bring your own machine and fabric scissors. If you do not have a machine, we have a few in the store available for use, but please specify at the time of registration. Machines are available on a first come first serve basis, so please register early. Review the full list of supplies here.
