In a combination of two enthralling
materials, learn to join glass to metal in this fast-paced one-day
workshop! Vitreous enamel is a type of glass that will fuse to
metal, used for centuries for its unique colors to create brilliant
luminescent artworks. In just a few hours, students will create a
jewelry piece or miniature painting using enameling techniques like
wetpacking, sgraffito and stencils. Work will be kiln-fired.
Class Goals:
Students will gain familiarity with
basic enameling skills. You will have a completed, wearable, piece of
enameled jewelry or a small piece of art.
