What's Closed for Veterans Day in Brookline?
The federal holiday will be observed on Monday, Nov. 12.
Veterans Day was celebrated by many communities on its official date, Sunday, Nov. 11, but the federal holiday will be observed on Monday, Nov. 12. Most state, county and city offices will be closed today, although businesses may choose to stay open. Here's a short list of what's open and closed today.

Bars and Restaurants: Open.

Library: All branches of the Boston Public Library, including the Charlestown location, will be closed today.
MBTA: All commuter rail, bus and subway lines will follow their regular weekday schedules today. For schedules, visit www.mbta.com.

Municipal Offices: Closed (including City Hall, public schools, libraries and community centers)
Museums: Boston Museum of Science (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Boston Children's Museum (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and most other museums around the city. Check websites to verify hours.
Parking Meters: Free (other parking rules remain in effect)
Post Office: All U.S. Postal Service locations are closed today.
Retail Stores: Open at owner's discretion.
Stock Market: Open.
Street Cleaning: No daytime street cleaning on Monday 10/12 (except overnight cleaning 12:01AM to 7:00AM on posted arterials). Resumes 12:01AM Tuesday as listed on posted arterials.
Supermarkets, Liquor Stores and Convenience Stores: Open.
Tow Lot Hours: Closed 11:30 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Tuesday (kiosks open 24 hours for cash, Visa or MasterCard payments).
Trash/Recycling: Collections will be done one day late for the remainder of the week except Boston proper, Roxbury, South Boston and Charlestown
