Traffic Violations Lead to Arrests in Brookline

January 29

1:30 p.m.: Officers observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light while traveling south on Washington Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver told officers that the vehicle was registered to his girlfriend. The ID was an “ID only” due to a suspended license. At this point, officers arrested Noel Rolon, 48, of 8 Cleaves Court, Boston and charged him with operating after a revocation, failure to stop for a red light, and a warrant for a failure to appear.

January 30

1:47 p.m.: Officers observed a Saturn traveling northbound on Washington Street at the intersection of Harvard Street with no inspection sticker. Records show that the car was purchased in February 2012. Officers pulled the driver over and observed a rejection sticker from November 2011. Officers arrested Jose Santiago, 18, of 41 Faneuil Street, Brighton, and charged him with operating an unlicensed vehicle and failure to submit to an inspection.

3:10 p.m.: Officers observed a Ford Explorer traveling Northbound on Harvard Street from Beacon Street. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and officers observed that the driver was traveling in the parking spaces on Harvard Street near Sewall Avenue. Officers pulled the driver over in the middle of the intersection of Longwood Avenue and Harvard Avenue, then the driver rolled through the intersection to a complete stop. The driver provided a Massachusetts ID with no registration. The officer could detect the scent of alcohol and issued a field sobriety test, which the driver failed. Donnadh Ryan, 43, of 407 Newton Road, Littleton, MA, was arrested and charged with OUI-alcohol, marked lanes violations, operating without a license and speeding.

9:05 p.m.: Officers observed a green Honda Civic traveling on east bound on Longwood Avenue. Through a random query, officers discovered that there was two outstanding arrest warrants out for the driver. Officers puled the driver over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver stated that the vehicle belonged to him. One warrant was out of Dorchester District Court for receiving stolen property, possession of burglarious tools and breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the nighttime. The second warrant was out of Dorchester District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Officers arrested Bryan Santiago, 27, of 1170 Tremont Street, Boston on the strength of those warrants. Perfection Towing towed the vehicle.
