Police: Man Charged with Having a Switchblade, Marijuana

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

A Dorchester man was arrested for carrying a switchblade amoung other charges. 

Brookline Police saw a white Honda Accord traveling eastbound on Washington Street with an invalid inspection sticker and pulled them over.

The officer spoke to the driver and told him why he was pulled over. The officer ran the driver’s information and found that the driver had a revoked license. The officer noticed the smell of unburned marijuana, and asked if there was any marijuana in the car.

The officer noticed a metal clip sticking out of the driver’s pocket and asked if he had any weapons. The driver told the officer that he was carrying a knife. The officer determined that it was a switchblade.

The officer arrested Luisa Vega, 27, of 32 Maple Street, Dorchester and charged him with carrying a dangerous weapon, operating after revocation, and failure to submit for a vehicle for inspection. Vega was also issued a civil violation for possession of marijuana.
