A big Brookline weekend for the kids and families: Pirates, Seinfeld-esque kids' songs, and some energy help for your home.

Everybody Loves Pirates by Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers

When/Where: All weekend! Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., at Puppet Showplace Theatre.
Why: You know that everyone loves pirates--except maybe Lucy and Chucky, who find a treasure map and have a group of pirates trying to thwart their efforts at every turn. With the help of Lobster Boy, Crabby and a wise old Sea Monkey.

Ruth: The Musical

When/Where: 7:30 p.m., Saturday night, at Korean Church of Boston,
Why: A one-act musical telling the story of Ruth, a Moabite woman who chooses to stay with her mother-in-law while she heads back to Bethlehem. The show officially starts at 7:30 p.m., and there is an open dress rehearsal at 4 p.m.
Pricing: Free, donations are welcome.

Billy Kelly & the Blah Blah Blahs: Kids' Shows

When/Where: 10:20 a.m. Saturday, at Coolidge Corner Theatre
Why: The style has been described as "Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld (writing) lyrics for all-ages music played by an acoustic Weezer." The subject matter ranges from milk, pine cones and springtime to 18-wheelers and the moon.

Virtual Tour Of The MWRA Water System

When/WhereMetropolitan Waterworks Museum, noon on Sunday.
Why: The MWRA's water system stretches all the way across the state. Want to know more about how water gets from the many facilities that produce the water, and put it into your taps.

Brookline Landlord and Resident Energy Upgrades Workshop

When/Where: 2 p.m. on Sunday, Coolidge Corner Branch Library
Why: If you own a home in Brookline--and either live there or rent it out--you may be able to make some upgrades to the home to make it energy efficient, and you may end up spending a lot less than you might think. You can learn all about the rebates, free assessments, and other energy upgrades.
