Free Holiday Lights and Music Show at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Starts Saturday Night

The new "light and sound extravaganza" is billed as Boston's newest holiday tradition.

Stroll through the Faneuil Hall Marketplace this Saturday night, Nov. 17 for the annual tree lighting and hear and see the premiere of Boston's free holiday concert and light show,Blink.

The "light and sound extravaganza" featuring the Boston Pops is being billed by organizers as Boston's newest holiday tradition. Attendees can stroll along the Faneuil Hall open marketplace under an 85-foot Christmas tree and 350,000 LED lights choreographed along with a live concert from the Holiday Pops. The show is in partnership with Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Arts Boston and the Greater Boston Visitors and Convention Bureau.

"Blink! is going to be the talk of Boston," said Erin Farley of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. "Blink! is family friendly and free—we are excited to see everyone smiling this Saturday; it's going to be great!"

The show will run every half an hour, from 5:30-9:30 p.m., Saturdays for the next six weeks, until Dec. 22.

On opening day this Saturday, Nov. 17, there's a whole day of entertainment planned, starting at 9:15 a.m. with a pilates bootcamp, a story hour with the Grinch, live music, a live broadcast on MIX 104.1 and more, all lined up between the Quincy Market buildlng and the South Market building.Click here for the full schedule of events.
