Five Things: January 31, A Squirrel Stole My Underpants

Here are five things going on around town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a rainy day with a chance of a thunderstorm before 10 a.m.. Gusts could reach as high as 50 mph, with an average wind speed between 22 and 29 mph. The evening will cool off to about 28 degrees and the winds will quiet down to about 16 to 21 mph with gusts of 34 mph.  

2. Squirrel Stole My Underpants by Bonnie Duncan: Sylvie is sent to the backyard to hang up the laundry. The moment her back is turned, a mischievous squirrel steals her favorite piece of clothing and runs off. When Sylvie gives chase, an entire world emerges from her laundry basket, and curious characters show her the way through mysterious lands at 1 p.m..

3. Classes & Ensembles at Brookline Music School: There are a whole bunch of classes going on at the Brookline Music School, starting at 8 a.m.

4. Hillary MacDonald to perform at EPOCH: Hillary MacDonald will perform a dance show at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Chestnut Hill on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 2:30 p.m. 

5. Brookline Music School’s Open Mic Night: Brookline Music School faculty Scott Pittman hosts a weekly Open Mic Night at Café Nicholas, 1632 Beacon Street, Brookline in Washington Square from 7:00 to 9:00pm for free.
