Five Things, January 22: CERT Training

Here are five things going on in town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts snow before noon with a high of 28. The evening will drop to 7 degrees. Very cold, so be prepared for that!

2. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training: The Brookline Police Department will be hosting a 10-week CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training starting in January.  An application and CERT overview are attached.  Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings, beginning January 22, from 630-930pm. Most classes will be held at the Brookline Emergency Operations Center, 870 Hammond St and some will be held at the BPD Headquarters, 350 Washington Street.  Attendance at the trainings are mandatory for certification.   

3. Making Informed Decisions about College: Learn to design the college wish list to match the interests and abilities of the student, while also being compatible with the resources parents actually have or want to use to pay for college.

4. Brad Meltzer - Fifth Assassin: In the latest installment from New York Times best-selling author Brad Meltzer, archivist Beecher White has discovered a sinister plot linking together America’s four presidential assassinations.  Were the assassins truly working together?  Who is behind it all?  Beecher must figure it out before the fifth assassin has a chance to strike.

5. Boabom: Free Intro Class!: Join the Boston School of Boabom every Tuesday at 8pm and every Saturday at noon for a free intro class!
