Here are five things going on around town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a cloudy day with a high near 40. Showers predicted for the evening between midnight at 3 a.m..  

2. Willoughby Walling: Retrospective on view: Celebrating the life and paintings of local Brookline artist, Willoughby George Walling at 9 a.m. at the Brookline Arts Center.

3. SoleMates Walking Group: The Solemates, the Senior Center’s walking group, meets regularly on Friday mornings at 10:00 am.

4. : Poets Feng Sun Chen (Butcher's Tree, Blud), A. Minetta Gould (Arousing Notoriety, Dutch Baby Combo), and Johannes Göransson (With Deer, Entrance to a Colonial Pageant) will be reading at the first BASH of the new year.
