Five Things For February 7: Peter Hook at Brookline Booksmith

Here are five things going on today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a sunny day with a high near 23. There is a slight chance of snow in the evening with a low of 21.

2. Peter Hook - Unknown Pleasures: Inside Joy Division (in conversation with Scott Heim): Interviewed by Scott Heim (Mysterious SkinThe First Time I Heard Joy Division/New Order), Peter Hook will grace the Booksmith with his account of his time in the generation-defining band Joy Division. He shares his insight into their glory and then the tragedy that befell them upon singer Ian Curtis’ suicide.

3. The Snowflake Man by Puppet Kabob: Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley, the self-educated farmer and scientist who attracted world attention when he became the first person to photograph a single snow crystal, inspires the story of “The Snowflake Man”.

4. Jeff Jam: Music at Henry Bear’s Park starts at 11:00 p.m.  

5. Children's Theater Opportunities---Registration: Learn how much fun acting can be! In this program for students in grades three through eight, we'll engage in the whole acting process, creating unique songs, choreographing dance moves, playing improvisational games, writing a script, and putting on a lively performance for family and friends. New and returning students are welcome.
