Burned Out Headlight Leads to Failure to Register as Sex Offender Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police. Charges listed do not imply conviction.

January 1

1:30 a.m.: Officers observed a Chevy SUV traveling Southbound on Washington Street with a defective headlight. The officer pulled over the vehicle and advised the driver why he stopped him. When the officer ran the driver’s license and information, the officer learned that the driver’s license had been suspended. Brookline Control also confirmed that the driver had failed to register as a sex offender. Wilbert Curry, 40, of 130 Auckland Street, Dorchester was arrested and charged with operating after a suspended license and failure to register as a sex offender. While searching the car, officers found a small bag of marijuana. The license was seized and destroyed and Perfection Towing towed the car.

January 2

8:42 a.m.: Officers were traveling east on Alton Place when they observed a Green Ford Explorer with an expired sticker. Upon entering the information, officers learned that the driver had a suspended license since October 23, 2012 and the insurance was revoked since September 2. Officers pulled over the driver near Saint Paul Street. Erin Hart, 28, of 35 Standard Street, Mattapan was arrested and charged with operating after suspension, revoked insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

January 3

12:20 p.m.: Officers were traveling north on Harvard Street when dispatch advised the officers to look for a red Volkswagen headed towards Coolidge Corner. Officers identified the driver and found that he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. Curtis Howell, 33, of 192 Humble Ave, Dorchester was arrested for the outstanding warrant.
