Brookline Man Charged with Assault and Battery on an Elderly Person

The following information was supplied by Brookline Police Dept. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

On November 5, Brookline Police were called to 1500 Beacon Street to investigate an assault and battery. Police spoke with the victim, who stated that he had been having problems with his neighbor. Three weeks ago, the victim said that he had received a handwritten letter under his door about the volume of his television. A week later, the victim said that he received a second and a third letter asking similar requests about noise.

The victim stated that on November 4, he and a man in the building began to argue about the volume of the T.V. The two men spoke a bit longer and then parted ways. The next day, the victim told police that he went downstairs to the man’s apartment to talk about the television issue. The two men began to argue and the victim told police that the man grabbed him with both hands on the arms and tackled him into the hallway, throwing him to the ground. The man then walked back into his apartment and closed the door.

Moments later, the man came back out of his apartment and assisted the victim off of the floor, back to his walker, which was around the corner, The victim claimed that he sustained bruises on hi back, shoulders and on his right arm. Officers photographed the bruises and determined that the neighbor was responsible for them. Andrew Muhin, 52, of 1550 Beacon Street was arrested and charged with assault and battery on an elderly person.
