10:15 p.m.: While patrolling the area of lower Harvard Street, an officer observed a vehicle turn right off of Commonwealth Avenue on to Harvard Street. The vehicle seemed to weighed down so much so that the tires seemed flat. The vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, abruptly turned down an alleyway which leads to the Herb Chambers dealership at the rear of 1200 Commonwealth Ave.

The driver hopped out of the Jeep and started unloading items into a shed next to a dumpster. The officer observed the suspect unload two car batteries and then stepped out of the cruiser. When the officer got the man’s name, he ran the info through dispatch. The suspect’s license was suspended. The rear of the Jeep was open, and the officer reportedly observed pipes, sheets of metal and various scrap metal parts. The officers placed the suspect under arrest and searched the vehicle. They found two car batteries, a brand new nail gun, a Dewalt electrical saw, a Black and Decker power drill, a brake friction meter, power transmission tools and boxes of functioning tools.

Officers charged Joseph Mrozinski, 46, of 335 Washington Street, Brighton, with operating after a suspension, larceny from a building and receiving stolen goods.
