Attorney Roger Lipson Honored for 50 Years in Law

Local Brookline attorney, Roger Lipson, was honored for 50 years of service in law practice with the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) at an awards dinner held on July 18th, 2013.  The MBA recognized Lipson along with 14 other lawyers for their long-term commitment as lawyers in Massachusetts.  The honorees were each presented with a plaque commemorating their service by MBA President Robert L. Holloway Jr. and MBA President-elect Douglas K. Sheff.

 

“When I was notified about receiving this honor, it took my breath away. All I could think was: Wow, where has time gone? This is a wonderful honor from an organization that I am proud to be a part of,” said Lipson.

Lipson has lived in the Brookline area since 1972, where he and his wife, Alberta, have resided ever since. As a former President of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce, Lipson has maintained high involvement in the Brookline community. In addition, he served as President of the Brookline Rotary Club. He was a founding member of the Brookline Legal Assistance Bureau, which provides legal advice to senior citizens. Lipson was also Head of the Brookline Rent Control Board.

Lipson’s career in law began as a legal aid attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services in Lynn, MA. He later received his J.D. from The New England School of Law and continued on to receive his LL.M., Masters in Law in Tax Law from the Boston University School of Law. He currently works full time at the Law Office of Roger R. Lipson.
