Charging Stations Bring Power to Brookline's Electic Cars

Two charging stations recently set up in Brookline will allow electric cars to recharge while away from home.

The Town Hall and the Babcock Street parking lots have two new additions: installed charging stations for electric-powered cars. The ChargePoint America stations come from a grant agreement the Department of Energy Resources, signed in September.

Users will need credit cards that work with "tap and go" systems to pay for their time with the charging stations. The ChargePoint network also has mobile apps for AndroidiPhone and Blackberry, as well as a locator website that allows users to find out whether or not a charge station is in use before driving out to it.
