Brookline Dog Grooming and Pet Suppliers Supplying Pet Needs for Almost Forty Years

Brookline Grooming and Pet Suppliers has served dog and cat lovers in New England for 39 years. Owner Mindy Dobrow, a Brookline resident and dog owner, bought out a friend who started a grooming company in the South End and has been grooming dogs, selling specialized foods and pet supplies in Brookline ever since.

“People bring their dogs from Maine, Connecticut, as well as the Brookline and Boston area,” Dobrow said. “People move away and come back for a day trip and leave their dogs with us.”

The salon grooms about 20 to 30 dogs a day on average, and serves some 2,500 customers a year. Many dogs have standing appointments. The shop also offers daycare seven days a week, with a walking service every two hours.

The groomers use a specialty shampoo such as Blueberry Facial and Spa Shampoos and Hypo-allergenic shampoos. Pet owners can also do their own washing in a do-it-yourself dog wash.

The retail side of the shop offers natural, raw diet foods diet and health advice for your pets, collars, leashes, and ID tags. Dobrow often attends lectures, seminars and trade shows in order to keep up with the latest nutrition research.

“All of our products are made in the U.S.A.,” Dobrow said. “A lot of research goes into keeping our customers informed. But we are proud to be a resource for local business and education.”
