Athletic Apparel Company to Join Retail Lineup at Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

The latest retail announcement adds to a retail list including Shake Shack, Pinkberry, Pottery Barn, Bernard's, Sports Club/LA, City Sports and a Cinema de Lux, which will all open in the new shopping center in 2013.

The high-end, "yoga-inspired" lululemon athletica has recently signed a lease to join the lineup of retail shops at the revamped Chestnut Hill Shopping Center.

According to a press release issued by the shopping center's owner, WS Development, the athletic apparel company will have a 3,100-square-foot store on the ground floor of the new 115,000-square-foot building . A in addition to a Cinema de Lux. 

“We have done a lot of business with lululemon, and they are one of this country’s greatest retailers,” Brian Sciera, vice president of WS Development, said in a statement. “We are excited to add them to a premiere corner of one of our flagship properties, in the heart of the affluent Chestnut Hill market."

According to its website, lululemon was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, and first set up inside a yoga studio. It features apparel for yoga, dancing, running "and most other sweaty pursuits."

In addition to lululemon, WS Development,  that Pottery Barn, Polarn O. Pyret and Treat Cupcake Bar will also be joining the shopping center's new retail lineup. Earlier this year, as well as the .

The new retail, gym and cinema building will begin opening up to the public in early 2013, starting with The Sports Club/LA followed by the movie theatre and retail shops. 

In addition to  and rebuilding on the site, WS Development also plans to demolish the / building a few doors down at 33 Boylston St. That part of the project, , will result in a new, three-story, mixed-use building that will include retail stores as well as office space for WS Development.
