Get Out: Open Studios and Walk for Hunger Weekend

Open Studios is running this weekend, and the Walk for Hunger comes through Brookline on Sunday.

When/Where: 9 a.m. Saturday morning, at Pond Avenue & Jamaica Road
Why: Frederick Law Olmsted is a , and many say the Emerald Necklace is a significant part of Boston's greenspace. Learn a little about how the necklace was molded by Olmsted as you take a Saturday morning stroll along the banks of the Muddy River.

When/Where: Noon to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, at 21 Gorham Ave
Why: Part of Brookline Open Studios, the house at 21 Gorham Ave will be open to visitors who want to see the art from a handful of local artists, such as Hanne Bernstein, Cathie Brenner, Jeremy Kindall and Tilla Rodemann. A variety of media and artistic styles will be represented.

Why: Not to be confused with the Led Zeppelin song of the same name, this version features music from around the world, celebrating the many heritages that make up Brookline, and the world. From the description, "magnificent performances is a mosaic of contemporary and traditional music from around the globe." The show includes Cantor Schloss, Soprano Leah Schloss, Cantor Elias Rosemberg, Cantor Erin Frankel, and Music Director David Sparr. The PALS Children's Chorus of Brookline is expected to make a special appearance.
