Get Out: Labor Day Weekend

As we suggested yesterday, there are more than a few fun , all happening around Boston, Rhode Island and the Seacost New Hampshire area. However, if you're looking to stay a little closer to town, there is still plenty to do.

When/where: 220 William T Morrissey Blvd in Boston or 137 Warren Ave in Plymouth, All day!
Why: Head to the Mayflower landing spot and see how the original colonists of Massachusetts lived, or learn a bit more about the life of president () John F. Kennedy, and do it for free through the Highland Street Foundation's Free Fun Fridays program.

When/where: 10 p.m. at the  (22 Clinton St, Boston)
Why: The Boston Music Massacre, featuring bands like Sun in Flight, the Evening Star, Sour D and others, is at the Hard Rock Cafe this weekend--and WAAF radio personality Mistress Carrie is stopping by to catch the show. Her WAAF colleague .

When/where: , all day Saturday
Why: If you love talking frogs, princesses, castles, giants and fairies as much as the Puppet Showplace Theatre does, then you'll probably love their annual Fairytale Festival. They'll play some of the classics, a few new adaptations like Jack Tuesday: Fairtyland Investigator, and serve refreshments from Whole Foods in Brighton.

Why: Come and explore the nighttime world conjured up by local illustrators, the Brothers Hilts, as they tell the tale of someone who sleeps all day and plays, works, and lives all night. The brothers will be at the 'Smith to talk with the kids who want to know more.
