Get Out: Family Fun Weekend

A selection of things to do this weekend: check out the waterworks, support the arts, or run away for lunch at the circus.

The following is just a sampling of the events going on this weekend. See the Event Calendar for a full listing:

When/where: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum
Why: Learn about where your water comes from, then check out the Great Engines hall, and see where the water used to come from. Take a tour, go on a scavenger hunt, show off in Waterworks Jeopardy, or get hands-on with some projects at the site. Bring the whole family, and get a new appreciation for your glass of water.
How much: Free

When/where: , 2:30 p.m. Saturday
Why: The Boston Harbor Island Alliance is looking for girls with poise, condfidence and a smile, who would enjoy walking down a runway in front of an audience of up to 500. Clothes are provided, just bring your winning smile--or volunteer to help out behind-the-scenes. High school juniors and seniors who would like to volunteer can email Melissa at AGFS@islandalliance.org for more information.

When/where:  on S. Huntington Avenue, at 3 p.m. on Sunday
