“I am incredibly honored to be a part of UMass Boston’s Emerging Leaders Program,” said O’Malley. “The fellowship will be an invaluable opportunity to not only hone my professional skills, but also work with a group of leaders on real projects affecting real change in the Boston area.”

Now in its 13th year, the Emerging Leaders Program is an experiential training program for professionals in Greater Boston where fellows collaborate on significant civic projects. The ten-month curriculum, which includes weekly seminars and monthly meetings, focuses on communication, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, change management, networking, inclusion, and teamwork. Selected participants are diverse in race, ethnicity, and gender and represent the region’s corporate, nonprofit and government sectors.

“We’re happy to welcome Jean into the 2014 cohort of Emerging Leaders,” said Lisa DeAngelis, Director of the UMass Boston Center for Collaborative Leadership. “Jean will join the 489 other emerging leader alums as they enhance the available talent pool and answer the concern that we need more skilled leaders.
As fellows network with each other and hone skills, they will start to assume leadership roles of increasing responsibility in their business and the community.”

“We are incredibly proud of Jean,” said Mary McKendry, vice president, Network Health clinical affairs. “She’s an asset to members and shows tireless dedication to comprehensive, compassionate health care. I am certain she will make the most of this opportunity and will emerge an even more effective business leader.
