Brookline Teens Earn National Merit Honors at Winsor

Five Brookline residents are among 36 seniors at the Winsor School in Boston to be recognized in the National Merit Scholarship competition this fall

Brookline’s Taylor Lynn-Jones and Carolina Young have been named National Merit Semifinalists, two of 10 semifinalists at Winsor.   Elizabeth Brewster, Ananya Mahalingam-Dhingra and Lydia Mullin each received Commendation.

In all, 55 percent of Winsor’s Class of 2014 earned recognition based on their performance on the PSAT.  The exceptional performance of Winsor students in this and many other arenas continues to enhance the school’s reputation as one of the nation’s preeminent girls’ schools.

Since 1886, Winsor has provided a distinctive educational choice for academically promising girls in grades 5-12.  While top colleges are in seniors’ immediate futures, Winsor prepares girls for life and its lessons—and friendships—last a lifetime.  Located in Boston’s Longwood medical area, Winsor draws its 435 students from more than 50 communities in and around Boston.

On Friday morning, Nov. 8, the school’s Admission Open House will give interested families an opportunity to see what sets Winsor apart by visiting on a typical school day and meeting students, teachers and current parents.  Learn more at www.winsor.edu.
