Join us for a night with two authors whose brilliant new novels explore the aftermath of tragedy. In The World Without You, the new novel from Joshua Henkin (Matrimony), a family reunites to mark the anniversary of their youngest son's death in Iraq. In local author Nichole Bernier's novelistic debut, The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D., a woman inherits the journals of her best friend, who died in a sudden accident. But the woman she finds inside is far different from the one she knew.

Brookline Booksmith in Coolidge Corner is an enormous store filled with both used and new books. The two-story shop has a wide range of genres as well as a kids' section. It also sells cards and gift items. In the book cellar downstairs, signings are held on a regular basis. The Booksmith has been open for over 50 years.
