Kids step up to the microphone for another year in Boston, MA

The award-winning Sports Broadcasting Camps will return for our 8th year in Boston. This camp will be held during the week of July 23-27, 2012 on the campus of Boston University. Our camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 10-18.

At the camp, kids will have an opportunity to make sports anchor tapes on camera, host their own sports talk radio shows, be videotaped hosting their own “Pardon The Interruption” style show, as well as make play-by-play tapes into recording devices at a Lowell Spinners game, make stand-ups at Fenway Park, as well as serve as sideline reporters and studio hosts in our homemade “green screen” studios.

Campers will also get a chance to meet local sports broadcasting celebrities. Past guests at the Sports Broadcasting Camp include Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, Michael Smith of ESPN, Joe Castiglione (Red Sox Radio), Dave Goucher (Bruins Radio), Sean Grande (Celtics Radio), and Coach Willie Maye (Celtics Sideline Reporter). They will also meet and interview Boston U basketball players on the BU campus.

All of our campers dreams of being the next Joe Buck, Bob Costas, Stuart Scott or Linda Cohn. Many already have their own sports blogs, podcasts, and internships. Some of our campers have already hit the big time. Scott Braun, a camper in New Jersey from 2003-2006 is an anchor for the MLB Network. Brian Seltzer, a Philadelphia participant, works as an ESPN radio reporter covering the Eagles. Every camper will receive a DVD of their videos during the week.

Sports Broadcasting Camps, LLC will be entering its 11th summer. In addition to Boston, the camps are in six other cities across the country including Philadelphia, Atlanta, North Jersey, Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
