 ience\, is widely recognized as one of the most influential women in the
  field of religion. She is the first American woman to found a worldwide
  religion.\nIn this house\, Mrs. Eddy founded The Christian Science Moni
 tor\, and made the final revisions to the Christian Science textbook\, S
 cience and Health with Key to the Scriptures.\nLongyear Museum\, an inde
 pendent\, historical museum in Chestnut Hill\, Massachusetts\, owns and 
 maintains this house on Beacon Street. It is one of eight historic house
 s in which Mrs. Eddy lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire that are p
 art of the Longyear Museum collection. For over three-quarters of a cent
 ury\, Longyear Museum has served the public\, providing exhibits\, publi
 cations\, and programs about the life and achievements of Mary Baker Edd
