Lactation Counseling Drop-In Group
The early days of breastfeeding are often full of challenges and questions. Our Lactation Counseling Drop-in Group provides a safe, comfortable, nurturing place for new mothers to receive information and hands-on support with their individual breastfeeding needs.
Led by a Certified Lactation Counselor, this group is designed for mothers and their babies as an alternative to private lactation consulting. New mothers will received personalized guidance about improving their baby's latch and will have the opportunity to experiment with different nursing positions. In addition, the group leader will answer new mothers' questions about issues such as milk supply, pumping and milk storage, and feeding patterns. If mothers are experiencing challenges that require more extensive assistance, the group leader may refer them to individual lactation consulting for further guidance.

More About Mama and Me
Located on the first floor of the Jamaica Plain Brewey Complex, Mama and Me is a playspace and child care facility for children from infancy through five years old. Mama and Me offers free play, painting, yoga, private parties, prenatal education, drop-off classes and parent support group programs, encouraging parents to stay with their children, play and learn in a welcoming, enriching and environmentally friendly space.
