DESCRIPTION:Glass beads have been made for more than 5\,000 years and com
 e in all  shapes\, colors\, finishes\, and appearances. In this class we
  will explore  the ancient art form of glass beadmaking\, using the best
  of modern  equipment and supplies. In just four hours you will learn th
 e  fundamental skills needed to produce your own assortment of beads.  S
 tudents will each have their own workstation\, and will be provided with
   a torch\, tools\, supplies\, and glass. We'll cover safety and equipme
 nt  operation\, basics of hot glass manipulation\, "wound" glass or mand
 rel  bead making\, glass color usage\, and surface decoration. You'll ma
 ke  beads to take home\, and if time permits\, we may also work on butto
 ns\,  brooches\, or pendants.
