Camerata & Orchestra Concert
Brookline High School, 115 Greenough St, Brookline, MA | Get Directions »
$5.00
The BHS Orchestra and the Camerata Honors Choir join together for a lively and varied evening of music, including a joint performance of the first movement of Vivaldi's rousing Gloria. The Camerata will sing the spiritual “The Blind Man" by William Grant Still (Eagon Meng, accompanist), Lasso’s madrigal “Matona Mia Cara,” and Lewandowsy's setting of Psalm 150. Students Nan Song (piano) and Fred Metzger (bass) will accompany the choir on a vocal jazz arrangement of "Summer Wind." The orchestra alone will play a symphony by Frederick the Great of Prussia (an acclaimed composer and flutist for whom Mozart wrote flute quartets!) The orchestra progresses through the centuries with additional works by Mendelssohn, Debussy, and Khachaturian.
