Three days after a man allegedly robbed a Star Market in Brookline and a CVS in Waltham, Boston Police have him in custody. 

Boston Police arrested Steven Lovering, 44 at around 3:15 p.m., according to the Brookline Police, who announced the arrest on its Twitter feed.

"Breaking news. Arrest made, Boston PD has arrested the suspect from BRKL Star Mkt robbery & car jacking. Nothing else available now," the tweet read.

Following the robbery of the Star Market on Beacon Street in Brookline, police there issued a warrant and wanted flier for Lovering, who they say is homeless, and is often in the area near the New England Center for Homeless Veterans at 17 Court Street or the area of Washington and School Streets in downtown Boston.

On Wednesday, June 6, scanners reported that a man--described as a tanned white man in his 50s, 5'10" tall with a scruffy beard and a beer belly, wearing a grey shirt and shorts--went into Star Market and passed a note demanding money. 

He left the store, dropping the cash drawer in the parking lot, and took a silver Lexus SUV from the woman driving it, and fled the wrong way down University Road. Police found the SUV at the Brookline Hills MBTA stop. With the help of K9 units, police determined he got on the green line--they believe in the direction of Cleveland Circle. 

After the incident, the police sent out photos from surveillance cameras in the store. Noting similarities with one of their cases, Waltham Police, on Friday, June 8, confirmed they had identified Lovering as a suspect in the May 31 robbery of a CVS on Harvard Street in Waltham and had issued warrants for his arrest. 

Lovering allegedly took a taxi cab to the CVS, passed a note demanding money, and fled the scene in a cab. 

According to BPDNews.com, Lovering was also arrested and charged with robbing a South End 7-11 store on April 23. As in he allegedly did in Waltham, he took a taxi to the scene and passed a note, but the cab driver refused to drive him away from the scene.
