Woman Charged with Pulling Fire Alarm Street Boxes

12:31 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of Harvard Street and Russell Street after someone pulled the Fire Alarm Street Box. Brookline Fire Department responded first and was advised that a black female in her 40’s wearing a black jacket, and a scarf with several bags had pulled the alarm, then headed towards Coolidge Corner.
At about 12:51 p.m., a second Fire Alarm Street Box was pulled near Sewall Avenue and Marshall Street. When the officer located a woman who matched the description, the officer also noticed a third alarm pulled near St. Paul Street and Alton place. Officers arrested Maryse Nozea, 55, of Boston and charged her with causing a false fire alarm.
7:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at the TJ Maxx at 525 Harvard Street. The loss prevention officers had detained the suspect and gave officers the information. The security team monitored the suspect as he concealed items in his jacket. The security officers recognized the man from previous incidents.
The suspect was found with four pairs of Armani Exchange sunglasses, each valued at $19.99. A query from dispatch revealed that the suspect had an active warrant out of Waltham District Court for shoplifting. When the officers checked the suspect, they found a large cuticle cutter used for cutting security tags.
The suspect also had two pairs of Bvlgari sunglasses with price tags reading $310 and $370 and a pair of Prada sunglasses as well. The TJ Maxx security said these items were not from their store. The officers contacted the LensCrafters in Coolidge Corner, who reported that they were missing frames.
Officers arrested Leon Gaul, 31, of 72 Kingsdale Street, Dorchester and charged him with two counts of shoplifting and the warrant.
2:03 a.m.: An officer responded to a request from a fellow officer who was on the scene of a motor vehicle stop. The officer reportedly pulled the vehicle over for driving without their headlights near Chestnut Hill Avenue and Beacon Street. The vehicle was heading westbound on Beacon Street at an estimated speed of 45 MPH.
When the officer pulled the vehicle over, the he noticed the odor of alcohol on the operator’s breath. The officer asked the driver to step out of the car and on to the sidewalk. The operator reportedly appeared unsteady on his feet.
Officers issued a sobriety test and determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. Patrick Lebeau, 21, of 741 Elmore Street, Park ridge, Illinois, was arrested and charged with O.U.I. –alcohol, operating without headlights and speeding.
