Plenty of Pies, Two Winners in Coolidge Corner Pie Contest

A local bakery and a local couple placed first in the pie contest in the Coolidge Arcade Building.

The Coolidge Corner Arcade building became a culinary battleground over the weekend, and when the dust settled, there were two victors.

The Third Annual Coolidge Corner Pie Contest, hosted by MJ Ready International Bistro on Saturday, Oct. 20 had the biggest field of competitors--and the largest tales of pies--of any year of the three-year tradition.

Competitors this year fell into two categories, restaurants and food service establishments and individuals:

First place winners were Clear Flour's cherry peach pie and Hugenberger's four berry pie. Coming in second was Grossman's Apple Pie and a pumpkin pie from The Fireplace.

Proceeds from the contest went to Coolidge Corner Community Chorus, and donations raised $843.
