When it comes to entertainment, Brookline has more than a handful of options. Whether it's the Coolidge Corner Theatre's Science on Screen series, one of the many author events at Brookline Booksmith, or the summer concert series put on the Recreation Department.
This week's Best of Readers' Choice poll may feel a little different, as the businesses may not be directly competing against each other. If this is your first poll, each week we set a few Brookline locales against each other in a bit of friendly competition. This week, we're looking for who has the coolest special events.
If you need to do some research first, go ahead, then stop back here and leave your review and vote for your favorite in the poll below. Reviews and poll votes help decide the winner, comments can break ties.
For a full set of rules, see the attached .pdf. Please remember one vote per person, per day.
And now, the nominees, along with links to their Patch Places pages (presented in no particular order):
- Brookline Booksmith
- Brookline High School (lectures, slideshows)
- Coolidge Corner Theatre
- EPOCH Assisted Living at Boylston Place
- Puppet Showplace Theatre
- Parks of the Recreation Department (Summer Concert Series, nature walks)
As in past weeks, the poll closes at 9 a.m. on Friday. Because these polls aren't scientific, it isn't the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor (that's me, Grahame Turner), based on the comments votes in the poll and reviews on Patch Places, with comments being taken under consideration. Please vote only once per survey. To leave a review, head to the Patch listing for the business and post your thoughts.
The winner gets bragging rights and a framed certificate from Patch. Let the voting, reviewing and commenting begin!
Editor's Note: Because many places in town host events, we focused on those which post regularly on the Events Calendar, and often have special guests in attendence.
