What Businesses is Brookline Missing?

With Otto Pizza opening in the next week, and Hops and Scotch looking at a mid-June opening, what is still missing from Coolidge Corner?

[Update 2: Explaining that "Beaurocracy is a cruel mistress," Brookline's Otto Pizza is pushing their opening date back again. In an e-mail, they say they will announce the official opening when "until all the i's have been dotted and all the t's crossed." May 23, 4:08 p.m.]

[Update: Otto Pizza sent an e-mail announcing a contest winner earlier today, the e-mail also indicated a May 22 opening for the Coolidge Corner location. May 14, 2:39 p.m.]

Gourmet pizza, scotch and craft beer are all heading toward Coolidge Corner, but there are still a few storefronts with empty windows.

We want to know: what are your ideas for some of the spaces still open, such as the empty store fronts on Pleasant Street, near Tiny Hanger

So far this year, the former Friendly's space in became the home of Otto Pizza in Coolidge Corner, and Hops and Scotch is set to fill the space Finale left at the beginning of the year

Boston Eater reports that Otto Pizza may be opening as early as May 15. A job ad posted on Boston Chefs indicates that Hops and Scotch is looking at a tentative June 15 date.

One commenter on our Facebook page says she thinks it's missing good vegetarian/vegan options. Anyone agree?

Agreed! More vegan options added to the restaurant menus would be great!

It might be nice to have another independent cafe. Coolidge Corner has too many coffee chains.

A real wine bar would be great---one with small plates for snacking. I'd LOVE to see a branch of City Feed & Supply. I wish Ana Sortun would open up a second Sofra here. A branch of Formaggio Kitchen or some other great cheese shop. I agree with Bill that an independent cafe would be great---maybe one with live music at night? A natural foods/vegetarian cafe would also attract kosher eaters. And I'd think that an overtly kid-friendly place like Full Moon in Huron Village would thrive here.

City Feed could be an interesting addition to Brookline. Have had some really tasty sandwiches from the Centre Street store.

I would agree to all of those! I've been waiting for City Feed to open here - they have great local products and tasty sandwiches.
