Weekend Weather: October 29 and 30

This weekend, are you going to need snowshoes or sandals? Find out before you head out.

No matter your plans this weekend, if you were thinking of staying in or , bear the weather in mind. The following comes from the National Weather Service report for Brookline:

Saturday: An 80 percent chance of rain throughout the day slowly morphs into a 100 percent chance of rain/snow in the evening. NWS is predicting the precipitation will turn into snow entirely around 8 p.m. Highs near 44ºF, lows near 32ºF. There's a possibility the snow could accumulate around 3 to 5 inches.

Sunday: Snow is likely before 10 a.m., and then a chance of rain after that--about 60 percent. Highs of 45ºF lead into a clear evening with lows of 32ºF. So, it will be cold, but the snow will clear up.

Don't forget to snap a picture of your kids in costume while you're out this weekend. You'll need the pictures to enter Heidi Klum's costume contest, and for next week's Viewfinder column!
