VIDEO: Growing and Aging in Brookline Together With BrooklineCAN

Over 100 come to the Brookline Community Aging Network's first reception since its April Launch.

The Brookline Community Aging Network (BrooklineCAN) attracted 110 residents to its first town-wide reception on Wednesday, July 27.

Members and prospective members, seniors, and residents of all ages attended the event where they met new neighbors and learned more about this recently formed town-wide effort designed to help older residents remain in their homes and be fully engaged in the life of the community.

The Brookline Community Aging Network welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds who wish to support older residents in remaining a vital part of the community. The Network’s website, www.BrooklineCAN.org, is the focal point for information about the organization. John Seay, webmaster of BrooklineCAN.org, was honored at the reception for his work in creating and managing the website. As a volunteer, John created a resource that keeps members of BrooklineCAN connected and informed.

More than 230 people have become charter members of BrooklineCAN since it launched on April 1. Membership fee is $25 per year.

Membership benefits include discounts from town businesses; information about preferred contractors and service providers, regular bulletins; educational forums; and involvement in an intergenerational volunteer network.
