Two Brookline Police Officers Promoted
Brookline Selectmen oversee two promotions within the Brookline Police Department
Two Brookline police officers promoted at the Board of Selectmen's meeting last night: Sgt. Paul Cullinane and Officer Michael Heavey were promoted to Lieutenant and Sergeant, respectively.
A Brookline officer since 1985, Lt. Cullinane has been involved in the hiring process for other Brookline police officers, and has served as acting Commanding Officer of the Third Platoon. He is a Brookline High graduate, and lives in Walpole with his wife--a former Brookline officer--and three kids.
Sgt. Heavey has been with the Department since 2004, he has worked in the Patrol Division since graduating from the academy. He lives in Norwood with his wife and two children.
Without any questions, the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved these promotions, effective immediately. They did want to congratulate and thank the officers for their work in the town.
Said Selectmen Chair Betsy DeWitt, "we always appreciate the chance to recognize our officers for achievements."
"We know you will sacrifice a lot, your families will sacrifice much, much more," Selectman Jesse Mermell added.
