Power Out After Transformer Explosion on Brookline's Walnut Street

A number of twitter and scanner reports indicate a transformer exploded. Power is out, but no fire extension to nearby homes.

Hurricane Sandy seems to be shaking things up in Brookline.

A transformer exploded behind 286 Walnut Street according to a number of reports on Twitter and from scanners. The scene of the explosion has been cleared by the Brookline Fire Department, and reports indicate there were no flames extending to nearby homes. 

At the time of writing, NSTAR's power outages map indicates there are 111 homes in Brookline without power.
