Town Sets up Beacon Street Fire Fund

Following yesterday's fire, the town has set up a fund to help the displaced.

To aid those displaced in yesterday's huge fire on Beacon Street, the announced today that they have set up a fund with the . Those interested can mail tax-deductible donations to: 

Brookline Municipal Credit Union
334 Washington Street, Brookline, MA 02447-0776.  

Make checks payable to "Beacon Street Fire Fund."

Those displaced can contact the Public Health Department with requests at (617) 730-2300. 

A , leaving two apartment buildings uninhabitable. Selectman Jesse Mermell reported on her Twitter account last night that the fire displaced 60 people, and that the American Red Cross is providing shelter.

In the aftermath of a fire on Monday, January 16 at 1469 and 1471 Beacon Street that displaced many residents, the Town of Brookline and the Brookline Municipal Credit Union have set up a fund to assist those displaced.  Please send your tax deductible donations made out to the Beacon Street Fire Fund to the Brookline Municipal Credit Union, 334 Washinton Street, Brookline, MA 02447-0776.
