Three Boston Men Indicted in B.U. Armed Robberies
The following information was supplied by the Office of Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.
The Norfolk County District Attorney announced that a Norfolk County Grand Jury indicted three Boston men today, one adult, two juveniles, in connection with robberies in Brookline near the Boston University campus in September and October. The two juveniles were indicted as youthful offenders, which means their names can be released to the public.
Taquari Milton, 17, of Lawrence Ave, Roxbury was charged with three counts of armed robbery on 9/25/12, one count armed robbery on 10/5/12 and one count of accessory after the fact on 10/5/12 (legally duplicative of armed robbery).
Youthful offender, Malcolm Oliver, 15, of Norwell St., Dorchester was charged with three counts of armed robbery on 9/25/12 and one count of armed robbery on 10/5/12.
Youthful offender, Raquawn Givens, 16, of Humbolt Ave, Roxbury was charged with three counts of armed robbery on 9/25/12, one count of armed robbery on 10/5/12, and one count of accessory after the fact on 10/5/12 (legally duplicative of armed robbery).
There is no date set for their arraignment yet. “We thank the Brookline Police department and Boston University Police Department for their work and cooperation in this investigation and putting this case together,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a press release. The case was brought through the grand jury process and will be prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brian Wilson.
Because of the youthful offender status, the defendants are now vulnerable to adult incarceration in a house of correction or state prison should they be convicted, although any eventual sentencing judge would also have the power to impose juvenile sentences on Givens and Oliver, according to the press release from the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.
The indictments at hand represent accusations only. Each defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
