n 1887, the High Service Pumping Station was completed bringing water from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir to Brookline, Watertown, Belmont, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and Quincy. Today, the Chestnut Hill reservoir is a backup water source for the city and the pumping station is now the Waterworks Museum. The Museum is slated for its grand opening this Sunday, March 27.
