Poll: Most Important U.S. Senate Race Issue?
Democratic frontrunner Elizabeth Warren is expected to challenge Republican U.S. Senator Scott Brown.
In less than three weeks Massachusetts voters will vote in the March 6 Super Tuesday primary, and, while much focus is deservedly upon the upcoming presidential race, we decided to take a look ahead to the Sept. 6 Democratic Senate primary.
Democrats will have three choices for someone to challenge Republican Senator Scott Brown: frontrunner and Harvard professor Elizabeth Warren, immigration lawyer Marisa DeFranco, and corporate lawyer James Coyne King.
Each of the candidates lists what they believe are the most important issues in this race on their campaign websites: Scott Brown on the issues; Elizabeth Warren on the issues; Marisa DeFranco on the issues; James Coyne King on the issues. But we want to know what you think is the most important issue.
Please share your ideas by taking this poll and by commenting in the comment section below.
[Editor's note — This poll appears on the following Patches: Brookline, Waltham, Woburn, Newton, Wayland, Acton, Watertown, Weston and Jamaica Plain.]

All the above are important. We should start with Jobs and the taxes will take care of themselves. As people get back to work, more revenue is collected. Repealing the new healthcare law is paramount after jobs. As a retiree, my income is fixed. going back to work is really not an option. Its sad to think I will have to sell my home of 30 years to afford healthcare and food. I'm just one, there are many more of me out there. As to Wall Street, Government should keep its nose out (Meaning the President and his Czars (how much does that cost We the People). If anything, the Government should oversee its departments better. I thing a complete audit of the Federal Government and how it spends our hard earned money is in order.

Nice point M C. Everyone's affected differently so its nice to see some perspectice.

M C, why would you need to sell your home to afford health care? The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 were designed to ensure affordable health care is available to people on living on fixed incomes.
As for the finance industry, more government regulation is clearly needed. "The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, a longtime proponent of deregulation, acknowledged...that failures in a voluntary supervision program for Wall Street’s largest investment banks had contributed to the global financial crisis." @Bill Davidson
Yes, an "Affordable Care Act," that does nothing to control costs. Too bad the President sold-out the Public Option to "stakeholders."

Other. I want the candidates to address solutions to the roadblocks placed by the partisanship in Congress. It doesn't matter which side you're on on any of the issues listed if Congress can't pass legislation.

Defeat Obamas Health Care Bill as it contains numerous controlling items to the American people that go beyond Health Care and give controlling rights to the Government and Obamas Democratic Socialistic Associates. The total American way of life will be shattered by this sinister bill that will give Obama POWER to bring this country to its knees. Name a Socialistic country that has A1 Health care or rationed Health Care similar to Canada?????

I'm curious as to what rights the government is going to take over in regards to our health care?

The entire industrialized world , every country with the exception of the United States has a national healthcare system run by the government- UK, France, Canada, Australia, Japan, Poland,South Korea, India, Mexico, Brazil, Isreal, Germany, Italy, Tiawan, New Zealand, to name a few. Their costs are less than ours, and their businesses are not burdened with providing healthcare to their employees like here. GM put plants in Ontario,CN , not because of union wages, but because, they did not have to pay Canadian employees, healthcare.Rationing has nothing to do with national care. You can get an appointment and surgery fasted in Japan than you can in the US and cheaper, too. Administrative costs in these countries is close to 5%; here it is 20% for the private health insurance providers. More than 50% is already " socialist" here- Medicare, Medicaid, Military care.

Amen Muriel. Having first hand knowledge of Canadian health care. I can say it does not work. You could be dead before you see a doctor. Most appointments are a six month wait and thats after you start to think there may be something wrong. People say it could not happen here. Take another look. Socialism does not work, never worked and will be the downfall of this country.

It is the penultimate head-fake.
Repealing Obama's Health Care Mandate will restore stability, eliminate uncertainty and create/refund jobs like there is no tomorrow.

Can we stop calling Obama a socialist? I mean seriously, he's about as socialist as Newt Gingrich. I think you need to sit down and read some economics books on what socialism really is. Let's not use the 5 dollar words when we don't know what they mean. Just because Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh say he's a socialist, doesn't make it so. I'm hardly an Obama fan, but this McCarthy crap of accusing someone of socialism is beneath us as a nation.

Liz,you need to look in the dictionary for the $5 word's definition.Obama is most assuredly a Socialist.I think Obama is the one who should read a few economic books.Capitalism and supply side economics are what drives this country.Obama wants all the working people to take care of his Aunt Zoonie and Drunk Unk because, well,it's not our country it's Gods country according to Zoonie and we owe her. That's the Socialistic mindset.I had economics, accounting, marketing, etc in college.I know a Socialist-Facist when I see one.

He is a she. 64 years old. Grew up in Watertown, Lived in Natick and Reading. Also lived in New York City, Westchester County, and Buffalo. Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta. Also lived in Mississippi where I graduated from High School before the schools were truly intergrated. I have relatives in Canada and I see the type of health care they receive. Now, what is your definiiton of Socialism? I believe that the Germans went down this road before Hitler finally made is true intentions known. I do not think that Obama is any thing like Hitler, but, his politics leave a lot to be desired. They do have one thing in common. Hitler talked a good game and so does Obama. Unfortunately, people listen and do not try to read between the lines. Its the beginning of Socialism. History always repeats itself, because people will always make the same mistakes.

Well MC my husband is Canadian, and my best friend lives in Toronto. Neither one has ever complained about the healthcare system when they need an appointment. What you've heard is when people are held up for elective procedures, because guess what homeskillet? Because they are elective. People who require a surgery get it when they need it, but a new rack, a nose job or an ear pinning is cosemetic in most cases and therefore it can wait.
I'm glad you dont think Obama is Hitler, because Hitler was tad bit more a of a fascist. And the Germans knew what they were getting with Hitler. It's not like he snuck up on them said "BOO! I'm in charge now!"

To My Flock,
To get back to the point... do we really need a state legislature dominated by Democrats? The Commonwealth is justly ridiculed in other states for the low quality of our politicians. Barney Frank is widely viewed as a loser... nothing to do with his lifestyle...everything to do with his being an unpleasant know-it-all who is unwilling to take responsibility for his mistakes. John Kerry and Ed Markey won't win any awards either. Let us try to redeem ourselves.
For life under Granny Warren I suggest you learn more about the new consumer finance commission she brought forth. The nanny state continues to extend its reach and the number of hacks and hackettes in the bureaucracy only grows.

Reverend:Sorry, but our politicians are experienced, knowledgeable, and effective for their constituency. After the 2010 mid-term elections that are multiple state's including new hampshire where the state senate and house are overwhelmingly republican. Would you suggest people vote to balance the represetation there. indiana, wisconsin, many southern states , texas, arizona ? "Granny" warren is more representative of the middle class than " playboy brown, who swings more towards wall street. barney brought us the Dodd-Frank bill to finally straighten out Wall street. kerry , a vetran and hardworking senator has backed the people over corporations may a time. no , i think we in Ma are doing just fine, with our representation. Elizabeth warren will ad to that great tradition opf helping workers, consumers, small businesses, lower income , not the rich and big corporations that are in it for the money.

Whether pronounced by Santorum or others, your Father would have to agree. The Anti-Christ is among us although with diminished powers.... her name be Nancy Pelosi. Satan continues to exert his diabolical influence on us mortals though his sycophant, Harry Reid.

My Son Tyler,
First I would suggest some remedial English work for you involving story development, sentence construction, capitalization, use of paragraphs, spelling and grammar. You should have paid more attention in high school.
(Just between us Tyler I would change my surname... something like Jones... fewer vowels and consonants. There is a dissonance between the Anglo-Saxon prename and Polish surname.

My Son Tyler,
I was too harsh with you in my last communication. Your names are fine - just tell us phonetically how to pronounce your surname. Your writing could be the result of youthful exuberance outrunning your stream of ideas. Maybe you had to work fast because your mother does not realize you are using the computer in the basement.
However, you condemn "..the rich and big corporations that are in it for the money." Corporations making money are part of what make America great. Being dependent on an entitlement program is not freedom.
