NSTAR Reports 100 Brookline Customers Without Power

Less than one percent of their customers affected.

A surprising October snowstorm left quite an impact on much of Massachusetts Saturday night, with some towns spending Halloween weekend in a winter wonderland.

According to NSTAR, 100 customers in Brookline were without power as of 8 a.m. Scanner reports indicated that a transformer on Buckminster Road may have exploded.

If you're traveling today, the Mass DOT Twitter feed said as of 8:30 a.m., the Massachusetts Turnpike was open in both directions (from the New York line to Boston) and speed restrictions were lifted.

However, if your'e traveling on the Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail line today, note that speed restrictions on the rails are causing some delays. Check the MBTA website for updates on the delays. 

As of 7:50 p.m. Saturday night, Governor Deval Patrick had declared a state of emergency
