Mitt Romney Raised Funds in Chestnut Hill Last Night
Former Governor Romney returns to Massachusettes to raise funds for his presidential campaign at a Chestnut Hill home.
Picking up some support in the state he once governed, the Boston Globe reports that last night Mitt Romney stopped by the Chestnut Hill home of a Bain Capital colleague, John Connaughton and his wife Stephanie.
The event was also announced on the MassGOP website, inviting supporters to a reception at the Clyde Street home.
This concludes a week of fundraising, and the event is expected to rake in $6 million for the campaign and Republican National Convention, according to the New York Times .
Romney handily won the Presidential Primary in Brookline, and in Massachusetts back in March, and in April, Romney tapped Beth Myers of Brookline to lead his search for a vice presidential candidate.
Last May, President Barack Obama also stopped by Brookline on a similar fundraising trip at the home of Advertising Executive Jack Connors, after a larger event in the South End.
