Why: Dusty, Pierrot, Zany and Guffaw present a wild and wonderful interactive circus that is only in town for a short time. Catch the circus-inspired songs, dances and stories that make up this show. Recommended for kids 3 and up.

Why: You're not scared of a few bugs, are you? When a giant, man-eating South American spider sneaks into a coffin bound for a small town Stateside, he meets a local lady spider and they hit it off. Then it's up to John Goodman and Jeff Daniels to save the town from their offspring.

Annual Coolidge Corner Sidewalk Sale
When/Where: Beacon, Harvard and Pleasant Streets in Coolidge Corner. Saturday during business hours.
Why: Support the many local businesses that make up Coolidge Corner, and pick up some great deals in the process. Just wander around Coolidge, and you won't be able to miss it. There is a chance of rain over the weekend, the National Weather Service warns, so bring an umbrella.

The Charles River Food Truck Festival
When/Where: DCR's Artesani Herter Park (1175 Soldiers Field Rd, Boston) starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Why: Compliments Food Truck, one of Brookline's food trucks, is but one of the local flavors that you'll be able to sample at the festival. Pick up a pack of taste tickets and try all of the trucks you can get to. See the event listing for a full list of trucks participating.

Baby Boot Camp Class for Moms and Kids
When/Where: 9:30 p.m. Sunday, 23 Newton St,
Why: Keep fit with your kids through Strollfit classes. These classes are for moms at all levels: expecting, recovering, or even moms with a couple of stroller-aged kids. A full-body workout that you can try this weekend for free.
