The Egyptian Oracle by Public VR
When/Where: Friday, 7 p.m. at Puppet Showplace Theatre
Why: Using a projected virtual simulation of an Egyptian Temple, actors and the audience participate in an ancient Egyptian ritual. Through the virtual high priest, your fortunes will be told, predictions will be made, and blessings will be given. After the event, stay to discuss what you learned.

Earthfest: Spongebob Squarepants to Meet and Greet Kids
When/Where: Saturday, at noon at the Hatch Shell.
Why: He comes up from the pineapple under the sea to greet kids for Earth Fest. Continue the planet-friendly trend from Earth Day with live acts such as Ed Kowalczyk, lead singer for Live, OK Go, Sponge and Atomic Tom. While you're there, check out some of the environmentally friendly non-profits and products showcased at the event.

Brookline Knights AAU Baseball Games
When/Where: Saturday, 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, 12:30 p.m. at Amory Playground
Why: Catch a game in town, when local Brookline kids take on challengers in the Amateur Athletic Union league. On Saturday, the Brookline Knights take on Shrewsury Thunder, and on Sunday the game is against Baseball Unlimited of Waltham.

Willy Wonka
When/Where: Saturday, 3 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. at the Maliotis Cultural Center
Why: The Barncats Ensemble at Artbarn perform a play version of Roald Dahl's classic kids' novel: "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The story follows Charlie after he wins a once-in-a-lifetime competition to see inside Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Things begin to get a little strange as he meets his fellow prizewinners, and the eccentric chocolatier.

Celebrate Lag Ba'Omer
Three ways to celebrate:
- The Lag Ba'omer Community Festival from noon to 3 p.m. at Brookline High School. It costs $5 per person, max of $26 per family.
- A Lag B'Omer Picnic from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Temple Emeth. Costs $5 per person, or $20 for families.
- Or, Lag Ba'Omer Jazz and Outdoor BBQ Party, which kicks off at 7 p.m. at Kent St & Longwood Ave. This one costs $15 if you pay ahead of time, or $20 at the door.
