Get Out: Fenway Faith Day and Rosh Hashanah Starts

A series of events in and around Brookline for the weekend, some religious and some just for fun.

'Make Way For The Reservoir – The Societal Impact Of Building The Water System'

When/whereMetropolitan Waterworks Museum, noon on Saturday
Why: Building the reservoir and the whole water system improved lives, and it impacted many of them. This free talk at the Waterworks Museum looks at the ways it affected the lives of those near the reservoir. 
How much: Free

Benefit Concert for Cambridge Fire Victims

When/where: 1 p.m. Saturday, Brookline Music School
Why: A fire in Cambridge destroyed the home of BMS faculty member Brendan Burns, and the Brookline Music School wants to help. From 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., they will play music and collect donations to benefit the victims of the fire. 
How much: Free

Slichot Services: Rosh Hashanah

When/whereTemple Ohabei Shalom, 10 p.m. on Saturday, 
Why: Rosh Hashanah begins this weekend, and Temple Ohabei Shalom invites you to begin the High Holy Days with a community reception and Slichot services at the temple. Of course, there are a number of other temples in town 
How much: Free

Author Jane Sutton presents “The Roller Coaster Life of a Children’s Book Author”

When/where: Sunday at EPOCH Assisted Living at Boylston Place
Why: "Don't Call me Sidney" and "The Trouble with Cauliflower" are a couple of the titles by Jane Sutton, who will be talking about the roller coaster trip as an author of Children's books. 
How much: Free

Faith Day at Fenway - 2012

When/where4 Yawkey Way, 5:30 p.m. on Sunday
Why: Head into Fenway Stadium after the game and join fellow people of faith as in songs and fellowship. Special guests include: Mark Melancon, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and others.   
How much: RSVP required, but free
