Get Out: Celebrate Restaurant Weekend, or Free Fun Fridays!

Get out and sample some local Restaurant Week flavors.

 

Restaurant Week

When/where: Various restaurants around town, Friday and Sunday.
Why: Get into some of the spots you've thought about going to, but haven't necessarily wanted to pay for. The menus are prix fixe, so you can decide what you want before you go. Some restaurants even offer wine pairings at an additional cost. Reservations can either be made through Open Table or by calling the individual restaurants.
How much: $33.12 for dinner, $20.12 for lunch.

Free Fun Fridays at the Boston Harbor Island Alliance and the USS Constitution Museum

When/where: All day Friday, at 66 Long Wharf in Boston and 24 5th St in Charlestown.
Why: Check out two local spots during the last of the Free Fun Fridays. See the USS Constitution, or check out the Boston Harbor Islands, and do it for free.
How much: Free

Alexanderia The Great: Beyond Houdini

When/where: The Marshfield Fair (in Marshfield), show starts at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Why: An escape artist who Fox has called the Modern Day Houdini, will be escaping at the Marshfield Fair this weekend. Come see the show while you explore the rest of what the fair has to offer--like a demolition derby, lego contest and battle of the bands.
How much: Free

Sir George and the Dragon by Pumpernickel Puppets

When/where: 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Puppet Showplace Theatre.
Why: There is a cute dragon that needs slaying, and of course, Sir George is the man for the job. That said, when he meets the adorable dragon, and some other friends along the way, will he be able to go through with it? You'll have to stop by the show to find out. 
How much$10. 

The Shofar Factory

When/whereChabad Chai Center, 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Why: Wonder how the Shofar is made? Want to make your own? Well, you're in luck. The weekend's Shofar Factory will teach you what you need to know about the instrument, and how to play it. 
How much: $15, or $5 for the demo only.
