Get Out: Daylight Savings Weekend

No matter what you do this weekend, you are getting an extra hour free. How will you spend that time?

 

SpookyWorld:The Fear at Fenway

When/where: Fenway Park, this weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why: Did you not get enough screams on Monday night? It isn't too late to check out their three special fright-fests: 3D Freakout, Hancock Hill Cemetery and Brigham Manor. Kids can also stick around for colorful characters and balloons. 
Pricing: Adult shows: $45 for general admission, $69 for VIP access. Kids' Matinee: $19

Swingtime: Vamps and Tramps

When/where: Saturday, 8 p.m. for lessons, dance from 9 to 11 p.m. at Brookline Academy of Dance,
Why: Want to learn how to dance? Want to go somewhere friendly, substance-free and inclusive to LGBT youths? Then Swingtime is the place for you. Free lessons at the beginning, and music by the Mood Swings later in the evening.
Pricing: $15

Boston Jewish Film Festival

When/whereCoolidge Corner Theatre, 9:30 p.m. Saturday
Why: The BJFF contines this weekend, with a selection of films including "2 Night" on Friday at 1 p.m. and "Naomi" on Satuday, at 9:30 p.m. If you missed another film from the festival, you can catch some of them at other venues. Check the full schedule on their website.

Don't forget that Sunday we apply daylight savings time. It's not time to "Spring forward," but to "Fall back." Turn your clocks back, so you don't arrive an hour early to these events.

Assaf Kehati, Jazz trio

When/where: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Brookline Main Library
Why: The Brookline Library's Music Association is presenting a series of musical acts in Hunneman Hall, and Assaf Kehati is kicking off this weekend with a modern Jazz show. Get there early, as there are only 80 seats in the place.

Brookline Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert

When/whereAll Saints Parish, 8 p.m. on Sunday
Why: If Jazz is less your style, and you want something more classic, join the local symphony orchestra for their first fall concert. They plan to perform Giovanni Gabrieli's "Canzon V a 7 - Canzoni e sonate," Ralph Vaughan Williams' "The Wasps, Aristophanic suite," Igor Stravinsky's "Suite No. 1 for chamber orchestra" and Joseph Haydn's "Symphony No. 104."
